Dr Arthur Karagiannis
Cataract Surgeon/Eye Surgeon
Dr Arthur Karagiannis is a highly experienced eye surgeon and has been practising as an ophthalmologist since 2001. He is a graduate of Adelaide University Medical School and completed his ophthalmology training in 2000.
Dr Karagiannis served 3 years as president of the Australian Society of Ophthalmology (ASO), from November 2011 until November 2014.
He was a Federal Board Member and Vice President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), as well as having served on numerous committees at both state and federal levels.
He is a member of the European Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgery, as well as, the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
In 2001, Dr Karagiannis took over the practice of the late Dr Colin Moore, which is located in the Dulwich Village Shopping Precinct. In addition Dr Karagiannis is a visiting specialist to both the Riverland and Mildura, where he consults and operates.
Dr Karagiannis has also been a visiting eye surgeon to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and has been involved in overseas aid to Myanmar (Burma) with Sight for All, providing ophthalmology training to eye doctors there.
Dr Karagiannis also supports Sight for All as a Vision 1000 member.
